This was a very nice apartment in a great location. It was clean and easier to get into. The only problem we had was that the elevator was out of service and it is on the 7th floor. We were informed of this two days before we arrived but after walking around Boston all day and brining up two heavy suitcases we realized we could not stay there. If the elevator worked this would be an amazing place to stay while visiting Boston.
I’ve stayed in at least 5 Healing Homes units in this building before and all have been amazing- super clean and comfortable. This was the first unit which did not deliver. The worst part (which is out of their control) was the elevator was broken so I had to haul two heavy bags up and back down 7 flights of stairs. But unfortunately the unit itself needs maintenance as well to fix the broken closet door at entrance, broken shower handle and 2 (of the 3) bathrooms lights which don’t work. I imagine these issues will be remedied quickly because I know Healing Homes is a fantastic host and I’ll absolutely stay in one of their (other) units again.
The apartment was filthy and needs some serious TLC. We arrived to a strong smell of food and soon began finding hairs everywhere - on the floor, in the bathroom, and worst of all in the bed. The bedsheets were dirty and looked as though they had not been changed. The cupboard to the boiler in the living space doesn’t shut and the trash’s lid was broken, which made it a pain with our toddler getting into everything. They did offer to clean the property again the next but it didn’t work out for us. They dropped off some cleaning products at our request but the one spray bottle was broken and couldn’t be used. We barely got an apology for the state of the place and it was absolutely not worth the amount of money we paid! The walls are also thin and we could hear the neighbours’ music and TV playing. The apartment needs some care in general - some lights didn’t work, the rug in the bedroom is old and bunched up, etc. Very disappointed!
The photos in the listing are completely different from where you will actually be staying. I reached out to the host twice about this and I was told “the photos are of a 2 bedroom unit this was a mistake on our end” I think that is kind of big deal to just show a completely different unit. We were expecting a sunny open floor plan with many windows, and that was not what we got. I started looking at reviews more and realized I am not the only person who has had this complaint, yet the host has yet to update the listing. Amenities we’re bare minimum and the hallway/lobby area smells. Location was good and the unit did seem to be cleaned well. Just very unhappy with the lack of honesty on the listing and lack of response on the hosts part.
This spot was advertised to have a washer and dryer, something I desperately needed at this point of my trip. Yes, there was a washer and dryer, no neither of them worked. When messaging with the host he gave me a list of things to do to trouble shoot the problem, I pent most of my first day in town messaging back and forth with the host trying to fix the machine myself. They finally sent someone over to look at it, this person put my clothes in the machine, got it to fill with water, then took off and my clothes were soaking wet when I came home. When I tried to put the clothes in the dryer it took almost 4 hours for the dryer to dry a small load of laundry. The host refused to call me when I asked for a call, instead only messaging through the app. On my next day at the airbnb the host sent through another mechanic to take a look at it, nothing was fixed again. I left for the day to do tourist things, the host then messaged me saying they were sending someone by to check the lights and the exhaust in the apartment, very strange and random. I asked them not to send these people by as I wanted some relaxing time after exploring the city all morning before attending the red sox game that night and didn't want a bunch of people coming through the apartment while I was there. Upon awaking the next morning before I left I awoke with a headache and the smell of gas in the apartment. Also, the lights in the bathroom no longer worked. All in all the location is great, the apartment seams nice when you show up, but it doesn't seam to be well cared for. All of these issues I had are simple things the host should have taken care of before renting it out to someone.
Excellent location but run down interior with multiple missing/broken fixtures and window blinds. Terrifically dirty windows. Had problems with both toilets and host was very responsive but issues persisted. Chose the unit for its two bathrooms but one was usually out of commission with my poor husband working to fix it. Clean but very loud at night with window a/c units but thankfully comfortable linens and beds. Large living space. Could be great with some basic investment to upgrade bathrooms and fixtures.
