The apartment was lovely, well-appointed, light, well-located, spacious, and more. Apart from the things I’ll talk about below, we would stay there again. The building fire alarm went off our first night, and all of the following five nights, at around 11:30 pm. This was exceedingly jarring and upsetting. Over and over and over. We had to figure out whether there was a real danger, and then when it seemed there (possibly) wasn’t, how to turn it off. Each night was its own nightmare, including being awoken, coordinating and communicating with other building guests, and worrying whether when we turned the alarm off, we were possibly dooming ourselves and other guests to danger if a fire occurred. The host’s response?: Not our job; we’ve called building management. “Healing Homes?” Not so much. We tried to end our visit early, but a flight was not available. We asked for a partial refund, but were denied any refund whatsoever.
Excellent location but run down interior with multiple missing/broken fixtures and window blinds. Terrifically dirty windows. Had problems with both toilets and host was very responsive but issues persisted. Chose the unit for its two bathrooms but one was usually out of commission with my poor husband working to fix it. Clean but very loud at night with window a/c units but thankfully comfortable linens and beds. Large living space. Could be great with some basic investment to upgrade bathrooms and fixtures.
