No elevator, carpet, sofa and the oven were pretty dirty. The roof leaked twice and even broken. The heat in the bedroom can’t work
I strongly advise against it! Basically, there's no insulation at all, and the apartment faces Commonwealth Avenue, which is a major street in Boston. Because of that, the noise is extremely disturbing, both day and night (I measured a constant noise level of about 40 to 60 dB, with peaks at 80–90 dB, which is really high). The hosts gave me earplugs and a white noise machine. In other words, to cover up the noise, they just added more… That didn’t work for me. The only good points: the people managing the place reply very quickly and are attentive, but they don’t offer any real solutions. The location is convenient if you need to go to MIT (which was my case), but that doesn’t make up for the noise problems.
Excellent location but run down interior with multiple missing/broken fixtures and window blinds. Terrifically dirty windows. Had problems with both toilets and host was very responsive but issues persisted. Chose the unit for its two bathrooms but one was usually out of commission with my poor husband working to fix it. Clean but very loud at night with window a/c units but thankfully comfortable linens and beds. Large living space. Could be great with some basic investment to upgrade bathrooms and fixtures.
