Spent 2 weeks here for work at MGH and had many issues during the stay. Had issues getting into the apartment because the nightclub that is attached to the apartment had a long line past the door and many cars both parked and honking at us when my husband got out to carry our things in. He then had to maneuver his way through the club crowd to get to the apartment door. The noise from the nightclub (which was active Thursday-Sunday) was aggressive to the point of shaking the apartment at night. Maintenance had to come inspect the roof of the bathroom during our stay due to something dripping from the ceiling. A neighboring apartment’s carbon monoxide alarm went off and the fire department came to check it but then had to come into our apartment at 10:30pm to confirm the our apartment was safe to stay in. Maintenance then had to come again to replace fire alarm and the apartment’s water was turned off to fix a pipe. While this may not be a typical stay, it was our experience here.
STAY AWAY IF YOU VALUE YOUR SLEEP! Host was great at communications. Place was okayish. Area was great. Bed was super uncomfortable. Musky smell in the apartment. And most importantly, there is nightclub right next to the apartment that blares music almost every night between 10pm-2am. This makes it IMPOSSIBLE to sleep. I had to take sleeping pills and wear ear plugs to shut out the noice.
Extremely disappointed with our stay. We were here for 2 weeks for work and the only good thing about this apartment was how close it was to where we worked. Long review but worth the read if you’re considering staying here (which I strongly do not recommend) -NOISE- They warn you about the club next door but it is so much worse than advertised. The white noise machine they provide does not even come close to helping out the loud bass vibrating your wall. The club also blasts music Wednesday-Sunday so if you’re there any of those days (most of the week) prepare for the club until about 2 AM. Every other night the club wasn’t bumping, people were stomping and running around in the apartment above us early in the morning. It was both housekeeping and guests early in the morning after thinking we could get ONE night of sleep without the club next door. Minimal sound proofing to provide guests with privacy and noise reduction. -SAFETY/SECURITY- They’ve apologized for this but ultimately swept it under the rug, and still needs to be brought up in our review. When we brought up the noise from the upstairs apartment, they said they would bring another white noise machine (which, first of all, didn’t help the problem anyway). I didn’t confirm or accept that anyone need bring us ANOTHER noise machine, and suddenly a man put our doorcode in and just walked right into our apartment with said noise machine. My girlfriend was coming out of the shower as he walked in. He never even knocked, and we never confirmed anyone coming into our apartment. We immediately reported this and they tried to play it off as if he mistakenly went into the wrong apartment. It was clear they lied to us to try to brush off their mistake. And either way it was a HUGE security violation to enter an apartment that was occupied, mistakenly or not. We travel every week for work and have never experienced anything like this. - MANAGEMENT- After our stay, the management team accused us of having a pet in the apartment because the housekeeping team saw “dog hair” all over the apartment. We are in a national Broadway tour and not even allowed to travel with pets. We never once had any pet come into the apartment and the “hair” they are referring to, we are 100% certain it is from the cheap hairy rug in the living room that sheds like crazy, as it was all over our socks and clothes constantly too. And then they want to accuse us of having a pet? Very annoying after everything they have already put us through. There’s also no elevator so if you have large suitcases, prepare for that. We had hoped this would be the worst of our problems but we were so wrong. For the price you’re paying, this was nothing we expected it would be.
Excellent location but run down interior with multiple missing/broken fixtures and window blinds. Terrifically dirty windows. Had problems with both toilets and host was very responsive but issues persisted. Chose the unit for its two bathrooms but one was usually out of commission with my poor husband working to fix it. Clean but very loud at night with window a/c units but thankfully comfortable linens and beds. Large living space. Could be great with some basic investment to upgrade bathrooms and fixtures.
